What happens when Austin native, Ben “Mouthwash” Pickett (Banjo-Dirty Charley Band) relocates toLafayette and embraces the entire local music scene?  In addition to playing with the legendary Butchers or performing solo as “Mouthwash” Pickett, Ben has elected to front his own Americanagroup, Durwood. Recruiting the drum bashing skills of Chris Deshazo (guitar-Frigg A-Go-Go; bass-Brother Dege; drums-Lost Bayou Ramblers; Black Joe Lewis; Freetown Hounds and international recording sensation Shazzerine) and the bass finesse of Jeremy Steward (Frigg-A-Go-Go), Durwood was born. Durwood has created a timeless mix of melodic songwriting that will keep audiences coming back for more.
