New group TALKER serves up a non­stop set of infectious dance grooves!

After the demise of the Lafayette super­group FIGHTs, members J Burton and Brycen Gaddis were determined to continue to explore the realms of the underground dark­-disco movement of the late 70’s and early 80s. Pulling influence from seminal New York groups like Liquid Liquid, ESG, and other artists of the legendary 99Records Label, TALKER uses heavy dance oriented drum grooves, enhanced by the sounds of early drum machines like the Roland 808 and TR­77, and accompanied by rich analog synth sounds from the deepest lows, to the shrillest and most delightful warbles. The addition of bassist Ian Guidroz (Brother Dege, Cedric Watson) completes the three­piece’s full and powerful sound. The band will head to Dockside Studio in late April to record, and will release a record this summer.
