Yvette Landry Band
Yvette Landry has the kind of voice that can get grown men into trouble, and make adult women follow her into dangerous places. She is seductive without playing the diva card, and writes songs that have grits and gravy spread all over them. In Lousiana, where great singers seem to grow on trees, this Southern star-to-be flirts with country, seduces soul and generally plays havoc with our expectations as she concocts a brand new brew of sounds. Always to be treasured and not to be missed.
–Bill Bentley, Bentley’s Bandstand
Since her appearance on the south Louisiana music scene a few short years ago, Yvette has had such an enchanted musical career that the announcement of her debut album, comprised of sixteen original songs, is not surprising.
From touring the world as a multi-instrumentalist, to performing with the likes of Balfa Toujours, Red Stick Ramblers, Pine Leaf Boys, Walter Mouton, Steve Riley, Dirk Powell, Donna the Buffalo, Bill Kirchen, Cindy Cashdollar, Carol McComb, John Lilly, Geraldine Gay and Darrell Scott, and being a founding member of the all-woman Cajun super-group BonSoir Catin, Yvette has made a name for herself as a powerful accompanist.
Now taking center stage, backed by members of The Red Stick Ramblers, River Road, The Wilders and more, be prepared to be blown away yet again by this beautiful songsmith. Her debut album, “Should Have Known”, is comprised of homemade honky-tonk that’ll knock you off your boots!
