Rayo Brothers
What better way to start off the year than a hoedown party at Blue Moon!
The Rayo Brothers are a folk rock band from Lafayette, LA. “Sounds like Mumford and Sons’ cousins from the South….one part GQ, one part string band, and all fun” (Times of Acadiana). They play a roots mixture of bluegrass, folk, blues, and outlaw country, drawing stylistic inspiration from the new generation of folk music – bands such as Mumford and Sons, the Avett Brothers, and Crooked Still.
The band formed in December 2011 when brothers Daniel and Jesse Reaux joined with Patrick Michot and Lance Kelehan to compete in Artmosphere’s songwriter competition. They present a solid set of original songs as well as some covers ranging from traditional tunes to Dylan, Cash, and Kanye West.
