From the blackjack bogged woods of Cypress Island, La comes a sound rooted in traditions of field work and house dances.

Formed in 2015, Shrugs is a female-fronted quartet of Lafayette, Louisiana natives whose music combines modern folk, post folk, and ambient influences. The group uses elements including voice, both acoustic and electric guitar, as well as upright bass to accompany moody and atmospheric stories previously untold. With songs driven by haunting vocal harmonies and heavy strings melodies, the young band crafts a captivating sound that lingers with the listener. Shrugs’ debut self-titled LP was released in August of 2017.
