Sonya Cee was born and raised in New Iberia, Louisiana. Shortly after recording her first single “Crush” she got an opportunity to open up for Keyshia Cole, Lloyd and Lyfe Jennings. The following year, in 2013, Sonya Cee moved to Oakland, California to study audio engineering graduating with a Bachelors degree in Sound Arts. While in college Sonya Cee interned at the Grill Studio. While working with other artist as an engineer, she became inspired again to sing, write and record. July 2018, Sonya Cee debuted her first EP “As You Go.”
